1. The North Shore travel video is all about introducing tourists to the North Shore of Pittsburgh. This video is based around going to a Pirate's game. It suggests a hotel to stay at, what restaurant to eat at, what it's like at a Pirate's game, and where to get souvenirs. Each part of the video is helpful and shows potential tourists the area.
2. For this video, I wrote and recorded myself saying the voiceover, visited each place and recorded all of the footage, and edited the video on Premiere Pro.
3. While completing this project, I learned from my successes to get more B-Roll than you think you need. When I have a lot of footage to choose from, it is easier to pick out exactly what would work for a particular section. I think the one mistake that I learned from after completing this project was to try to change up the movement of the motion shots, so there is a good mix. The best thing about this project are the shots in it. I feel like I captured beautiful shots of the North Shore (the non raining shots). Something that I would change about this project would be substituting the rain shots for nice weather shots.
1. "The Art Behind Sophia Smith's Talent" is about 20 year old Sophia Madison looking back on how she got started in film and how she was Musical.ly famous as a young teenager. The video starts out with what peaked her interest in film and transitioned into talking about her Musical.ly videos and content. The narrative also highlights what projects she has doing now as a Junior Cinema Production major at Point Park University. She also touched on what her future plans are in the film industry.
2. For this video, I gathered and planned out exactly what pictures and videos I was going to need from Sophia. After planning it out, I took it to Premiere and edited it all on there.
3. While completing this project, I learned from the mistake of not breaking up the amount of work into days. I learned to start big projects like this earlier than the due date. After completing this project successfully, I learned that I enjoy putting pieces like this together. The best thing about this project is including the videos of all of her old Musical.lys and some of her short films. It brings her work to life so people can actually see the stuff she created. Something that I would change about this project would probably be the way I set up her interview shot. There is a reflection off her glasses.
1. This marketing video is about the basketball facility called Shoot 360 that is located in Bethel Park, PA. The video highlights the technology in the facility that children and college athletes use to enhance their shooting, passing, and dribbling skills. The general manager, an ex professional basketball player, and a Shoot 360 member talk about the facility and all of its benefits. The video includes footage of the facility and technology.
2. For this video, I went into the facility and recorded all of the footage and wrote questions and interviewed and recorded all three of the interviews. After doing this, I then went into Premiere Pro and cut up and edited everything together to make a solid marketing video.
3. After completing this, I learned to have confidence in my skills and abilities. I have always had confidence in my journalistic skills, but I learned to celebrate myself and to recognize the great things I have done, but also some things that I still need to work on and grow from! The best thing about this project are my interviews and voiceovers from those and the way that put them together and the parts that I took from the interviews. Something that I would change about this project is still trying to get the lighting in each shot consistent. The lighting in the facility was hard to deal with, so I just wish for next time that I would have done my research on what time of settings to adjust the camera.
1. This video is about a gym on the North Shore called Union Fitness. This semester, the Point Park University Athletics partnered with Union Fitness for extra strength building and training. One of the teams that is working with the Union Fitness strength coaches is the Point Park Track and Field Team. They started lifting here in the facility in September and they will be continuing for the Spring of 2023 semester.
2. For this video, I planned all of my shots out, recorded all of the footage at the gym, and conducted two interviews with the Track teams strength coaches. After the production phase, I took it to Premiere Pro, figured out what order and what I wanted to take from the interview and figured out what B-roll I wanted for each part of the video.
3. After completing this project, I learned to get a mix of motion shots and regular composed shots of the things around me, and to think outside the box with recording content. The best thing about this project is the B-roll in the video. I also liked how I matched up the footage with the voiceover of what the strength coaches were saying. Something that I would change in this project would be tweaking the lighting even more than I already did to get it to all look consistent.
